If there’s one thing that Vanessa’s mother has taught her, it would be that the most important thing to know how to do well in life is communicate. Being open-minded to that concept, Vanessa launched her career in public relations as a student at UC San Diego and earned her bachelor of arts degree in communications. Learning the ropes of PR through multiple internships, both at UC San Diego’s External Relations department and at Porter Novelli, Vanessa was thrilled to join The McRae Agency’s all-star team after graduation.

Vanessa now plays a key role in managing multiple accounts within the agency. Her favorite part of the job is seeing the “big picture” ideas come to life.

Always eager to get involved in the community, Vanessa uses her spare time to stay actively involved with the UC San Diego community by volunteering her time with the Alumni Association’s Young Alumni Council.  In 2008, she was also the communications chair for the Public Relations Society of America’s “New Pros” committee in San Diego. Vanessa has been recognized by UC San Diego’s Alumni Association and Panhellenic Association for her continued campus community involvement and leadership.

Originally from the Bay Area, Vanessa enjoys exploring all the hidden treasures San Diego has to offer. A musician at heart, Vanessa is often spotted dancing to her own beat. Some lucky San Diegans may occasionally hear her rocking out on Guitar Hero or singing karaoke on the weekends. 

 Favorite Buzzed Beverage: Tall cinnamon dolce latte, no foam, extra hot
