Sandy’s public relations career began with an academic internship at The McRae Agency during her junior year at UC San Diego. Quick to take on any challenge (and apparently not easily scared off), she has worked her way up to her current position as an account manager. She plays a key role in managing several agency accounts and is always looking for any opportunity possible to write, edit or research – practically anything.

Sandy is integrally involved with a variety of committees for the Public Relations Society of America San Diego chapter, ranging from its signature events including Del MarTini and the Bernays Awards to mentorship roles for newer professionals. For her professional and charitable efforts, Sandy was awarded the 2007 New Professional of the Year Award.

Currently, her favorite part of the week is reading to a class of kindergarteners through Rolling Readers, a program encouraging literacy for all San Diego children. She also does pro bono PR for the program. Somewhere in the day (or rather night), Sandy also finds time to be a freelance writer for the fashion, entertainment and lifestyle publication, 944 Magazine,and the business publication, bizSanDiego.

Originally from Sacramento, Sandy was drawn to San Diego by the city’s beaches and picturesque ocean views. She graduated with a bachelor of arts in communication and minor in literature/writing. When not at work, you can most likely find her on the sofa reading a book or watching “mindless” TV, pretending to be able to sing in her car or trying out a new restaurant.

Hold the coffee. Hot chocolate, topped with whipped cream please.
